New top executive succeeds Michelle Mason, who left Sept. 1 to join ASAE

Association Forum announced Monday that Artesha Moore will become CEO in February of the Chicago-based organization for association professionals on Feb. 14. Moore is currently vice president of affiliation, engagement and membership at the American Geophysical Union in Washington, D.C. She is an alum of ASAE's Diversity Executive Leadership Program and was selected as an ASAE Fellow in 2021.

"The board and search committee were impressed with (Moore's) strategic insight, her enthusiasm for the opportunities facing the Forum, her track record on execution and her superior interpersonal skills," said Paul Pomerantz, Forum board chair and CEO of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, said in a statement. "We are confident that, in partnership with our engaged professional community, she will lead Association Forum to the next level of excellence."

Moore succeeds Michelle Mason, who became CEO of ASAE Sept. 1 after leading Association Forum since 2014. Suzanne Berry has been interim CEO since Mason stepped down. Association Forum reported revenue of $2M for the year ending March 31, 2021, which was half the revenue of the previous fiscal year before the start of the pandemic.

During more than four years at AGU, Moore focused on creating meaningful engagement opportunities for members and the broader earth and space sciences community while also directing program overhauls and alignment initiatives, according to the Forum's statement.

Before AGU, Moore spent 12 years at the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, where she was promoted to vice president of membership, education and technology. She previously held roles at the National Society of Professional Engineers and the Association for Psychological Science.

Moore became a DELP scholar in 2010 and currently serves on the program's Foresight Works Advisory Group.

Moore has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
